Budget 2015
Raising the personal allowance

New measures to squeeze taxes out of internet firms

More detail on the plans for the 'northern powerhouse' including committing to HS3

Scrapping the annual tax return

Giving pensioners the right to trade in their annuities

And a new pound coin that looks like the thrupenny bit

All sounds good to me.

Indirectly it does SJS. You cannot increase expenditure without increasing the deficit so you're being disingenuous.

And really you would scrap our nuclear deterrent as Russia and the Muslim world are getting ever more threatening?

And nationalise railways! Haven't we been there before and ended up with a bloated badly organised loss making enterprise sponsored by the tax payer. Much as is the problem with the NHS... Nothing wrong with doctors and nurses just the awful over paid managements with jobs for life.

That's a hilarious statement. Increasing Public sector does not lead to greater deficit. You seem to think all the public sector does is take from the Government. Perhaps you're confusing a Public sector and the Country's welfare system.

I'd scrap Trident. That's about £80bn over 20 years. I'd nationalise rail operators. That's another £2bn a year
I'd increase minimum wage, again saving another £1bn (IFS estimates)

It an ideological decision, whether to just cut costs or look at ways to empower people and a nation. We clearly differ on how to make a difference.

I suspect such a situation would see UKIP's vote share rise very significantly, as one of the main opposition parties.

Can anyone tell me what is actually wrong with Milliband. He seems quite clever, ugly and a geek. But that hasn't stopped us in the past.
Look at this list of PM's
Cameron
Brown
Blair
Major
Thatcher
Wilson
Heath

I don't think one of them is normal

The more I think about the more I come around to the idea of a grand coalition. Perhaps we need the two main parties to save us from the lunatic fringe on both sides.

I'm not sure that Carswell and Reckless belong with the kippers. Carswell for sure seems well out of place amongst that group of single issue, racially prejudiced, generally misogynistic, saloon bar fascists.

Surface

UKIP voters are in the main perfectly lovely people.

UKIP activists are in the main ex Tories with chips on their shoulders and deeply unpleasant thoughts.

Gav. For a lot of these people they would have more money in their pocket.
The work shy, Scousers and benefits cheats need to vote Labour.

What it boils down to is either the Scots or The National Front ( sorry UKIP) having the chance to have a say in this Countries affairs.

What a horrifying thought.

Re: Budget 2015
its not just an election poll, its an indication of how stupid the general populace is that over a third of people want to hand the economy over to people that would fuck it yet again.

Amazed its that close really, regardless of whether you have Labour or Tory roots it comes down to personalities like Balls and Milliband versus Cameron and Osborne.

There all rich twats but one lots going to bankrupt the country and the other lot won't!

Yes because they wont go on strike and not empty my bins, or drive the trains, or teach my kids, or put out fires or treat my sick mother.

So yes I would rather have him in charge than a trade union puppet.
